Elkbreath beautiful trophy! Is that a c-c-c-c-ccompound bow in the bottom right hand corner of your second pic?

elkbreath

How'd that get in there!!!  :-)

actually, that's my buddies bow, hes still shootin the training wheels, and we've been hunting together for 6 years now.  I didn't include any of my own wheelie bow kills here.

Used to not carry a camera much at all, but since I've gone to the stick and string, I seem to remember it more!

Thanks to everyone for keepin this thread alive!  just a couple more weeks and its finally time.

The bull above, with the curve in its antlers, was taken last year by a friend.

This funky bull was killed a few years back...

Elk breath, Just because it's not your bow dosen't mean it's ok to post picks with compounds.   :knothead:

Don't get me wrong I'm a elk hunter and I love to look at the picks but Terry and the mods have a job to do and could pull this whole thread if the wanted to and that would be a shame because everybody wants to look at the elk picks right now. It's that time of year and you are doing a great job on getting everybody fired up.

See if you can crop out the wheel bows or find a different angle or something and then we can all injoy the picks. Looks like you know what your doing thats for sure and I wish you good luck this year.  :wavey:

Elkbreath this is a fine thread and the hunters who have killed an Elk with a trad bow are to be celebrated-they have reached a level many of us are working towards. Frankly, your pics have me confused; in the middle of page 2 there is the 'meat bull' in the first pic there is what looks like a backed self bow hanging from the tree great pic!
A couple of pics later the meat is wrapped, clean up time, and presto! There is a different tool laying on the ground-you can see my confusion. I'm not being an elitist snob; I hunt with guys who shoot compounds, sometimes; but their animals don't rank here, with the Trad folks who have taken their trophies, with the tools we have chosen to use. A rifle shot Elk wouldn't belong here either.

nice bulls guys , best of luck to y'all this year

Hey would you guys please lighten up you ask to see bow killed elk and now your gripen bout a few wheels in the pics i dont see you guys posting many pics so give the guy a break  :(

Steertalker

If nothing had ever been said about compounds I doubt if that many people would've noticed or cared.  I sure didn't.  And if you think killing an elk with a compound is any easier than killing one with a recurve or LB....you've never been elk hunting.

My hat is off to elkbreath.  Anyone who can consistantly kill elk with whatever bow is to be commended.  Obviously...he can!

Anyway...the point of this thread was pictures of dead elk....no more or no less.

I have killed elk with wheels and trad and have plenty of picks of both but we are talking about respect. Please respect this site and refrain from showing wheel bow picks because like I said I don't want to see this thread pulled.

" The point of this thread was pictures of dead elk" With trad equipment on a trad only sight

It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

I respectfully submit this.   :bigsmyl:

Here is a brief copy of the agreement that all Trad Gang members agreed to before becoming a member of this site. The Parts boxed in are what make this site unique. The atmosphere and the fact that this is a traditional only site are what keep me here.

I love seeing pictures of past and current traditional hunts. This will be my first year to hunt elk and I am very excited! So keep the traditional pictures coming gang.

Ok, all pictures have been edited to remove the evil influences.

Lets not let this thread to turn into an argument of semantics...
