Terry just said it all Ive gotten better penetration with the Woodsman than I did any two blade .  And on my penetration test on a intact deer carcasse it penetrated better than 6 other 2 blade and the Razorhead with the bleeder out penetrated the Razorhead  with out it .

katman

VPA 1 1/8.

Sharpen with this. Slight angle change makes a difference.

Bro shot two pretty good sized MO bucks last fall with a 42@28 bow and VPA 200 three blades.  One arrow fell out first jump, other was stickin in the dirt.  Neither went over a hundred yards.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Shoot the broadhead that you are the most accurate with. I have shared these pictures several times. My son shot this hog with a 32# Kodiak Magnum, Goldtip traditional shaft, 200 grain Woodsman broadhead. He got a complete pass through at 20 yards. The hog weighed about 115 pounds. I have always used a flat file to sharpen our 3 blade heads.

He was 11 years old at the time.

I've shot Snuffer, Grizzly Instinct, Woodsman, VPA and all have ended up stuck in the ground or brush on the other side game.  Have also shot ACE, Magnus and Ribtek that did the same thing.  One was a neck shot with a Magnus.

I have difficulty getting my 3-blade VPA's as sharp as I can get my 2-blade broadheads.

VPAs are the BIGGEST no brainer heads to sharpen.

See this.....

'Diamond Sharpening Steel, 8 Inch Professional Extra Fine Oval Knife Sharpener Steel Rod Kitchen Diamonds Coated Honing Steel for Chefs Honing Butcher Knives'.

Can be oval, round, or 3 sided with 3 different grits like I use, makes no matter...

Set the back of 2 blades on the sharpener and pull back, rotate and do it again and again till done.  Out of the pack it shouldn't take more than 5 strokes a side. Light pressure till the last two rotations then very light.

Sharp and durable is what you want, not so sharp the edge will roll, like a razor blade. This method will achieve a very durable and deadly edge.

Preface this by saying I really don't know from personal experience shooting that light. In my mind I would use the VPA's or not use the tree shark but a different simmons like a tiger shark. Whatever you use make sure your arrow WITH broadhead chosen are shooting perfectly and make sure the heads are as sharp as can be. That will make the most difference along with accuracy.

Tried and true, yep, that fits the 3 blade bodkin of medieval days. If a man can't get through and into the vitals of a whitetail with a 3 blade he needs to pick up a gun.  I'm also not sharpening challenged for the Simmons heads either.  I liked their 4 blade Tigers but they don't make them anymore it seems.  I should have bought more back in the day.

I like the land shark and the tiger shark and believe the sloping angled blade greatly helps in cutting and penetration. Like the scimitar blade sword does for cutting with the stroke. Using the cheap rada can get the simmons heads shaving sharp in a minute or two.

Friend

Have experience using both the VPA 3 blade and the Simmons Tree Sharks on many critters....both are lethal pending reasonable shot placement....my personal opinion may only add to the pot of confusion.
