Heard last night that levies in Winfield and Foley broke. This is Charlie Lambs' country. If the water crosses 79 in that area Charlie may be locked in, can't remember if there is a backroad access in there. Looked like a lot of low ground between river and 79. If I know Charlie and he's locked in he'll simply slap a bowfishing reel on his bow and have at it.

If you're out there Charlie how about a check in.

Tom, Charlie is fine. And, like you say, he's capitalized on the high water. I talked to him on the phone and he's wacking the biggest fish he's ever shot.

Charlie, like me, has experienced a rash of computer problems nad simply quit trying. I lost hard drives in two computers two days appart and simply decided to stay off the computer. I lost everything including the last ten years of hunting photos of friends.

No worries about Charlie! Charlie moved to the highest point in the area last year. He's just close to the water when he sees fish now. Be well! CK

Thanks Curtis. I figured he'd be making the best of a bad situation. One thing about being retired, as long as he and Billy aren't in a position of drowning it's all good. Just heard that the water is over 79 in places now. Heck, he probably don't even have to cross the highway to shoot fish now.    

Sorry to hear about all your photos. Computers. Sometimes useful when they work. Worse than worthless when they don't.

Yep....he moved, and the house he use to live in probably washed away from what his wife told me yesterday........He's in the hills now and fine, cept for his computer problems.

Dang....hate to hear that Curtis.  I've been backing  mine up on CDs and those little zip plug ins or what ever they call em, memory sticks or something.....scared silly I'll loose em one day too.

I be shooten trad for a while now but just realized I live right next to Mr. Lamb.  Wonder if he would ever want to shoot with a punk kid?

Thanks for the updates. I remember when I was at his old house on Foley a few years ago he told me about the flooding problems they had in '93. I was a little worried about him this time around until I remembered he'd recently moved.

Tom... Thanks for the concern. As you know I'm high and dry where I live now and the only inconvenience (except for the national guard not letting get down to the flood waters) is it's a little longer trip to the store.

I did take advantage of the early stages of the flood and shot a few carp (20 or so) and some pretty nice big head carp.

Got the new computer up and running finally. Still working out a few bugs with posting pics or I'd be tellin a bowfishing story. May get it figured out soon.

Jason... If I was still in the old house, I could shoot fish from the back porch. I'll settle for chasing bushtails for now and get back after the fish in a few days or weeks or whatever.... the water will be with us for a while I'm sure.

L82hunt... where are you. I'd be game for shooting a little as soon as this dang tendonitis goes away.

Missed our first Compton trip becausee of it and lots of cleanup up here.Just thankful it wasnot losing loved ones and only material as others have been dealing with.Our prayers are with those families who have been dealing with worse than us<><

DW... the primary levies have been overflowing for the past few days and now we're having break throughs on a bunch of secondary levies.

Most of it has been upstream and as bad as it is for those folks, it's taken the pressure off the folks down stream.

Danged if I know why folks insist on living in a flood plain anywho.

There have been bazillions of carp, gar and assorted whatever all over the bottoms. Mostly I had to shoot from the bank/roadside bordering private fields and most of the activity was further out in the fields. Still did ok!  

Appears that I have the picture thing worked out.

Even though my heart goes out to those affected by this flooding, I can not help but think about the great fishingexperienceI had when hurricane HUGO (yes I put in all CAPS, if you went through it you would put it in all Caps too) hit S.C. my best hunting buddy, now in the happy hunting grounds, and me murdered the fish on Lake Wateree when it flooded his place. I will always remember how we made a little fun out of a terrible situation. Like most people I have never experienced the horror these folks are going through and I do not tke what they are going through lightly, I'm just remembering...
