My new Zona T/D recurve has been shipped and should arrive at the Archery Shop Thursday.  I'll pick it up Saturday, set it up and shoot it.  A bow report will follow!    :)

You can do so with a PM.....

I picked my Zona up at the Archery Shop Saturday, set it up and shot it for about an hour and a half.  The bow shoots every bit as well as it looks.

I was shooting Carbon Express Terminator 4560s with 3 gr/in weight tubes, 3" feathers and 100 gr points up front.  The arrows weigh 500-502 gr.  My 46#@28" Zona spit the arrows out very quiet, very quick, totally shock free and consistently accurate.

I put this bow on a par with the Dale Stahl T/D recurves and Marriah Thermal T/D recurves (by Ric Anderson) that I have owned and shot.  Those two bows and the new Zona would be the top three recurves I've owned.  I have a new Thermal on order and should be receiving it latter this Summer or in the Fall.

This bow is definitely a great shooting bow.  And at $400 + $25 shipping it is a great bargain, too, for a T/D recurve.

Bill,

When did you order your Thermal?  I ordered mine in Oct 07?  Hopefully, should be done in a few months.  I can't wait/  I got Mercassar ebony and cocobolo handle with bamboo limbs.  Ken

Ken,

I originally ordered in July '07.  But then when I got back from IL last Nov I was so frustrated over a shot I missed that I sold all of my trad bows, bought a Hoyt compound and contacted Ric and told him I wanted to cancel the order and he could keep the deposit and money I had sent.  I think I contacted him again in January to get back on his list.  It may actually be later than I think before I receive it.

My riser will be Macassar and Bocote and the limbs will be Actionboo lams with Bocote veneers.  I left the rest of the wood choices for accents, wedges, etc. up to Ric and his artistry.

Bill - what happened to the compound?  Why did you switch back to trad again??

One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action .... is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum, in which men steal through existence, like sluggish waters through a marsh, without either honor or observation

Hey Bill, how about some chronograph numbers for your new bow??

Sutto,

I still have the compound, but I just love shooting trad bows.  You can take the trad bow out of a man's hands, but you can't take the trad out of the man.   ;)    :)

Dean,

If I make it to the Archery Shop on Saturday, I'll shoot it through the chrony.  It may be tough to find the time to make it Saturday though. Our daughter, her husband and their four children are moving in with us this coming weekend for about 10 weeks while their new home is being built.

Did you get a chance to shoot through the chronograph? If not, do you have a sense for the performance of the bow? I ask as I want to order one - and would like to get some peformance info first.

Thanks,

Jim
