This is a little something for someone who has given so much for the youth in our Tradgang family. It isn't much, but I want to show my appreciation for everything he's done. The kids mean a lot to me and I believe in karma. So here's a little karma for Dave. I happen to know that he doesn't have a primitive knife, so I made one for him. Some hand knapped mahogany obsidian mounted into the base of an antler. The rest of the antler I used on the dispay stand made of black walnut. I hafted the blade to the handle using deer sinew and hide glue. I hope you like it buddy, it couldn't be going to a nicer guy.

Your heart and hands have worked well together to honor our friend David. Truly beautiful thoughts and workmanship, this is a gift that also includes the most precious gift that one can give: Time. There are a lot of hours spent on this, hours spent crafting with stone, antler and wood, while thinking about a friend. The value there cannot be measured.

Well done, Brian.

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Can't think of anyone more deserving!
I second what Killdeer said.  Time is something we never have enoughof.  But when you're working on a labor of love, espically for a friend....can not be measured in earthly value.

It is beautiful Brian.

I have been thinking on this since I saw you post it to find the right words. The things I do for the kids I don't do alone and it is not done for recognition or gifts but because it needs doing and is the right thing to do. Most of those who help me choose to go unrecognized and each of them is just as deserving.

That being said and please don't take this wrong but I can't accept it for myself so would be honored if you would donate it to the St Jude Auction so it can help us help them. I hope what I am saying from my heart is coming through the right way but I am not always all that good at writing this sort of thing.

Thank you and I hope the young man is still shooting with you.

Brian, that is outstanding! The workmanship is excellent, and the thought is tremendous. Dave is very deserving of your generosity and so humble as to donate it to the kids. You both deserve this;  :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:

That's real nice.  Dave is one of the good guys and seems you are as well Brian.  Imagine the way life could be if all had this spirit.  Thanks guys for making me wanna be a better person!
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

On behalf of Vermonster13 (Dave) the knife is now up for bids on the St Judes auction. I might have to bid on it myself now! By the way Dave, not only are we still shooting together and scouting together but he plays third base on my little league team.
