As the title says, I made this quiver for my son, Brendan.  Over the last few months he has been eyeballin a coyote hide I have in my shop saying it was his for me to make him a quiver with.  Well, unkown to him I bought a Fox Hide (from a fellow tradganger) just for his quiver.
I have been looking at the hide the last few weeks thinking about how to go about transforming it into a quiver.  I decided on a Plains style quiver instead of a back quiver. Here is how I went about making the quiver.  Hope you enjoy.   Brock

I started by making the inside for the quiver.  I used some light tooling leather and an old arrow for a stiffener. The picture shows it with and angled front, I cut it square before inserting it into the hide.

This was a cased hide, making it easier (less sewing.) I place the leather liner in from the back side up to the neck area.

I then cut the hide at the neck area and sewed the head to what is the outside front of the quiver.  I then cut some leather straps.

Next I figured out where I wanted each end of the strap to be and cut a slit in the hide for the strap to slide thru

I then punced some holes in the ends and laced it around the old arrow

Next I stitched the hide at the tail end to the leather liner and rolled the fur at the neck end inside the liner and glued it.  I then laced the strap using some bone beads I had to dress it up.

This picture is of the front of the strap.  .  I also laced it up on the backside, using more beads and leaving room for future adjustment.
And that was it.  Hope you enjoyed.  Thanks for looking.

And here is my son with his new quiver.  He put it to use at a shoot we went to over Memorial Day weekend.  As his smile shows he was very happy and proud.  I am so glad I was able to do this for him.  As you can see there was some snow on the ground.  Again hope everyone enjoyed my build.

Thank you everyone for your comments.  I spend as much time as I can with my son.  I know how time flies and want to soak in all the memories I can.

Nice quiver Brock and thanks for taking me with you guys on the shoot. I guess someone had to take your guy's pic. LOL Well now I need a quiver for my daughter, she love's it. Brock also has a Traditional Archery store here in Vancouver if anyone is interested. bullmtarchery.com is his site and he makes some killer stuff. Latest news is Rodney Wright is going to be selling his bows at Brock's shop and the first order will be in late July. I am chomping at the bit to test out some of his other bows. I love my Firehawk. Thanks again Brock.
