No one seemed interested in this item on auction last week, so I bought it for less than $50.00.
I owned one just like this about fifteen years ago but sold it to a friend who bugged the bejeemsus out of me for it.  Lovely bow that shoots great.  48#,  60",  with rosewood, maple and walnut riser.  It has what Shakespeare called "buff" colored glass on back, and tan on belly.

Dog Gone thats a good looking bow.  I watched that bow for a few days.  Hate to say now that i passed on it.  Nice find George !

Good Deal, I love the old shakespeare bows, shoot them almost better than anything.  Use them alot for bowfishing.

It's on it's way to John Nail today, I'm taking it to the P.O. this morning.  I just bought a Howard Hill Big 5, which I will share photos of when it arrives.  This bow is a shooter for sure...it would be interesting to compare it with some modern recurves in the same draw weight.  You should have it Fri or Sat John.

No problem, Joe: I'm pretty fickle, so check with me in about three weeks. 8^)

Yep...I shot a good hundred arrows from it 8^).  This bow is flat-out fast.   They are like pretty girls, you can date them without getting too serious.  Anyway, these are the only cuties my wife will allow me to date 8^).

Heck it may turn into a traveling bow, in a roundabout way.  Everyone should experience some of these great old bows before they are no longer available.

joe vt

john, i will seriously. i like that riser and profile.

I had one like it circa 1962, and if it's as sweet as that one, it may play hard to get!

My first recurve back in 1972 was a Shakespeare. Bought it at a swap and shop. Shot it for several years. Wasn't as good looking as this one. May have to do a little begging, I mean bugging myself LOL.
