Again. let me start off by saying what a first class outfit Brush Country Bowhunting was and how good of care they took of me/us.

Sunday night, the last night we had I went out to a stand a little early. About 6:30. the wind was being all funky and went from changing directions every 15 minutes to none at all. Nothing. When I puffed my windicator bottle the powder would fall straight down! So I knew that scent would be a problem. I got down out of the stand and found a bunch of cow pies. Stomped around in the freshest one I could find, rubbed some on my pants and hat and brought a big chunk back up in the stand with me. I also, put a Sow in Heat wick on the feeder, poured a little on the ground at a place that would give a good shot and poured some on the tree I was hiding in.

About an hour and a half later, right at sunset, I hear a big snort and look up and a big boar is charging over the hill, mane raised, toofs bared, ready to fight. He stops for a second and goes right to where I had poured out the sow in heat and sticks his snout in it. About this time the formerly dead still wind puffs straight to him. he does that familiar look up and loud sniff and takes off back over the hill. 10 seconds later he's back. Even more angry and goes straight to the wick. He's still sniffing and obviously knows I'm there and smells me but he just can't bring himself to leave the Sow in Heat scent. I watch him go through this cycle of charging off then stopping just over the hill and coming back to sniff the Sow in Heat 5 or 6 times. Eventually he stopped long enough to get a shot. It was just after sunset but the moon was bright and he was standing on white sand. So there was a good sillouette. He jumped the string a little and I hit him a little higher and farther back than I wanted. But it still looked good.

I jumped down and checked and there was just a tiny bit of blood so I figure he can sit til the morning as it was kind of cool.

The next morning when i find the trail the blood got much much better but it went into some TIGHT tunnels. Real hands and knees stuff. Found him about 50 yards in a tunnel dead as a doornail. Turns out it was a double lung shot with a full pass through. About 1/4" of the broadhead sticking out on the opposite side. I had to drag him out crawling through the tunnel. I got very very scratched up.

I`m givin it some serious consideration. Even at $5k a piece we`re quids in, lets sit back and snipe it at the last minute for a couple of grand.
