Our 2 best stands are called "The Wagon Wheel" where several trails meet and "The Titty Blind" it has 2 symmetrical humps neck high you can rest your head on! Both have been good stands.

Barry, I think you should let me come sit in one of them and kill a big buck and then you can call it Steve's stand!  just a thought.....

We wait to name them Also as some aren't worth naming....Here are a few good ones......BLOOD HILL...the best bow stand I ever hunted. 10 acres of planted pines and in the Middle, on a hill, was 5 White Oaks and 4 Red Oaks. One memorable week-end we had 5 blood trails leaving the White Oaks....VELVET...the first time I ever sat in this stand, I killed my only velvet buck and it was a nice one. My buddy, Shannon, and I killed 10 white-tails from Velvet that first year. It was a nearly perfect funnel with a great creek crossing..We talked about changing the name several times as a lot of strange stuff happened while we were hunting it..Shannon had a squirrel hunter come up the creek bed one afternoon and a squirrel was below him on the trunk. The guy had a 12 ga. pump and started shooting at the squirrel as it started running up the tree. It was above him when he ran out of ammo....I had a guy walk under me one afternoon singing the Pure Prarie League song "AIMEE"...I whistled at him and he looked at me and started crying and ran away...TRUE Story...TOMBSTONE...been hunting this stand for 23 years and a bunch of critters have passed away from here, but the reason for the name is an old wooden Cross marking a grave is about 30 yards from the stand. A long ago hunting accident is what we're told.......DROP-TINE...23 years hunting this one also and bow-killed 3 from it this year. JC has hunted it a few times. THE perfect funnel and Barry, Gene, or any white tail hunter would put a stand here just from looking at an Aerial Photo....POISON...just put this stand up last year and haven't shot a deer from it BUT passed up 2 bucks that I regret not shooting now and 10 minutes after the fact...Long walk and a canoe to get too it and the most sign around this stand as I've ever seen..Perfect location and the only tree to put a stand in is completely covered in Poison Sumac..I can get around this stuff and get it all over me. Spent a day in the emergency room 2 years ago because of it....but you just cant believe the amount of sign around POISON    There lots more but i'm tired of typing...maybe later...SORRY for rambling but lots of great memories and a great thread....Don Wilson

I hold off naming mine as well...

I have the BONEYARD (aptly named as it's buck central, but also where I've found the skeletal remains of  3 deer- yes its very thick.     ..)

the crossroads- duh.. a;; trails lead through this area...    

The honey hole- (a place that does love as the honeysuckle is prevelent... been low on bucks though- but much venison comes in freezer has come  from this spot  )

the loop- where I have a 2-man stan hat gets hunted exclusively by none other than my now 9 y.o son... we see a bunch of deer , but he keeps waiting in that perfect shot where the deer stand still broadside for 4 minutes... I have no idea where he gets his patience from...must be Momma-after all she puts up with me     )

It is funny to see common names on stands.  We also have the honey hole, the bone yard, the grave yard, and poison ivy on various properties I have hunted.  We have also had the play house, the widow maker, the killin' tree, the big oak, the grocery stand (shopping is a pleasure), the back yard stand, doe hill, piebald, big buck, and sasquatch just to name a few.

The sasquatch stand was actually on a piece of property in PA that I hunted with a friend of mine.  He said the first time he hunted there he spooked a horse in the adjacent pasture and he thought sasquatch was after him.

Like most of you, we generally let a stand earn a name.
