can anyone offer some experience with what shaft I need?  recurve drawing 54@31".  I draw 31" and need to leave the arrows at 32"+.  Using 145 gr tips.  Thanks for any help you can give.

For what it's worth: I pull mid-50's at 32" and use 340's with 125-grain heads.

Thanks Jason, did you try the 400s by chance?...were they way too soft?

Lost

I like the 400's up to about 55lbs with 140 gr up front. Above that I like the 340's with 220gr up front @ my 29.75" draw.

Kelly,

For me, the 400's were definately too weak. The only way I could get them bare shafting straight was with a 65-grain tip.

Kelly,
FWIW, I shoot 56 lbs @ 28 inches and, like Jason, I shoot 340's....w/ 250 gr up front AND a 100 gr brass insert.  Hope this helps.

52 bow

Kelly, I shoot 340 MFX at 31" out of a 67# longbow with 175gr. points and they are perfect- also 340 FMJ set up the same , all with 4-4" feathers.
