Who has ever had a surgery . I did and it took me out of Trad for a while. Glad to say I was able to send some POC into my target this morning before work!

This was the first forum I ever found and am glad to have a reason to post here again  :archer:
Is it deer season yet?

Longbow Bowhunter

I had both shoulders done, out for about 6 weeks each

K.S.TRAPPER

I have surgery coming up the 29th, Accident at work tore the rotator cuff tendon in half and bicep tendon is tore 80%+. Sucks but nothing I can do about it.

I hope to be ready for elk season but I don't know.  :banghead:

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

I dropped out and got a PSE BRUTE setit at 49#s and used it for physical therapy, AND TO FILL THE FREEZER, If you are having a Surg I highly recomend you go as slow as you can. Dont rush it at all...

Had my left done 4 1/2 weeks ago. Started shooting a light bow this week. Seems to be a common topic lately

Downwind Lefty

I had a torn labrum, frayed rotator cuff and collapsed bursa sac - plus the tear was behind the bicep and they had to detach it to get to the tear.

Took months to get to shooting. I had it done last June and by October & November, I would take my bow for a walk. Decided against trying to draw on one last year, but atleast it made it to the woods.

My advice to anyone is to do your physical therapy without fail, get a light bow and work your way back. It can take time, so just accept it and try to keep your frustration in check.

Unfortunately, they need to go back in AFTER bow season - guess I'll see if I can heed my own advice....

Guy's:
I was 66 when I fell and shattered my elbow and tore my shoulder up.
The Elbow was in 30+ pieces. tore the bicep and triceps at both ends of the humerus. + torn rotor. cuff. Three surgery's to correct everything. Believe me if your therapist hurts you during treatment find a different one. Mind told me if its hurts during treatment he was doing something wrong.

maybe we aint as tough as you are, bob,i dont see any way around the pain since you have been cut on and scraped etc,,,,i have been through the knee part before, and it hurt to,,,,jeff

Jeff:
I'm not talking the pain from the injury, I mean the pain associated with the therapy, my therapist told me there should be no additional pain from the therapy, and basically there wasn't.

I have a torn Super Spinatus[spelling?] the top muscle that goes under the collar bone. I couldn't draw back my bow last Fall. I dropped weight had 2 cortison shots and started physical therapy after my second shot. The PT said we can build up the 3 surrounding muscles to take the pressure off the torn muscle.Well I went back to the Doc's and am now about 70%. I have to continue the excercises and weight work . This should keep me off the table for a while I hope.By the way I'm shooting a 47# and a 50# Longbow without any problem again.

Just got out of surgery a few hours ago!
Boy am I drugged up now!
Doc said there wear no tears....good for me.
He did say he had to grind out ALOT of deposits in there...bad for me?
I have a few low poundage bows that I can rehab with when the time comes, I'll start with my sons #15, #25, #35 bow....glad I haven't given those away yet, I knew this was coming.
MAYBE I'll be able to shoot a #40 bow come hunting season...the poor old Brack will have to stay at home   :(            :(
