Why do you think I get this? I shoot ok, then all of a sudden I get a "flyer", that is really crooked, and it doesnt stick in the target like the others   :banghead:

Same reason as everyone else!  :biglaugh:

Seriously though, it could be one, or more, of many reasons. Bad loose, short draw, collapsing, missing anchor, overdrawing, not allowing for the curvature of the earth, etc...etc...

you need a new bow........maybe several.
just kidding, could be any number of reasons. When this happens to me it is usaually because I short draw for a shot which will make the arrow act stiffer

its the demons in your bow......

likely a drop in concentration level, sloppy release, bad follow thoroug, the list goes on. It doesn't take much to turn good to bad....

The human aspect is so much fun to deal with!

Yep to all the above. For me, it's usually getting tired and plucking vs. a nice, controlled release.

For me it usually happens with a bad relase, which usually happens when I'm tired or in too big of a hurry.  Maybe not concentrating?
Do or do not ... there is no "try"

Or maybe you are concentrating just right...but not on what you should.

Sorry. I hadda do it.

Many possible reasons as stated - most of them mental or lack there of (concentration).  But if you want to eliminate one by one I would suggest paying attention to your form at release, my problem is a lack of push/pull which leads to a lack of follow through, a floating anchor, a "shaky" bow hand, etc...if I correct my push/pull dynamic release I seem to cure a lot of ailments.

You may also look at the arrow(s) that's a flyer.  Is it the same one more often than not?  If so I'd bet the nock is crooked....

Good luck and have fun figurin' it out.  If you do figure it out let us know because I can use all the help available.

havent got all the misses out of your bow yet.  :D

bowdude

Can't see your pic for review.  Have you marked the flyer to see if it is the same arrow causing havoc?

frassettor

I deleted the pic out of photo bucket, not knowing it would affect the pic here.. Anyone who wants to post, Sorry.

It's Gods way of keeping ya from getting a big head....
Seriously it concentration, form, releasae, no back tension....etc
   Simply put, BAD SHOT......

just a bit outside

I usually do this for one of two reasons. I either miss my anchor point or I torque the string. The only way to fix it is concentration and taking my time.

We should have shotguns for this kind of deal.

It's generally that my brain decided to take a trip and it wasn't to where the original destination was. It's called a brain &%#* or a release &%#* but it's better for me to blame it on the bow or the arrow. Not me syndrome. I only goofed once but I can't remember when that was.
