I'm moving up to a stave bow, I'm thinking about one of these staves to try a bow from. They are:
1) Pacific Dogwood Stave
2) Vine Maple Stave
3) Hickory Stave
4) Oregon White Oak Stave
This will be my first time working with a stave. I'll order it from Raptor Archery.

So from all You Stave bowyers... which one should I work with first...

I would say,,, hickory...

Easy, 2" @ fades to 3/8" tips, no ring chasing.

You're bound to know somebody you can cut one off, aren't you ? Have fun ! Definitely Hickory !!!
