I'm helping a friend make a bow off of my deflex/reflex longbow form.  He would like to make a handle for the bow that will be shaped so that it cuts completely through the glass on the back of the bow.  Is this going to be a problem?  The riser is 18" to the end of the fade out and he's only looking at taking 4" or so from the center of the bow.  Because this is a non-working part of the bow, I told him that it might be possible, but I wanted to check here first as there has already been a lot of time invested in the riser and the glue up of the bow.

Thanks,

Stan

i don't see any problem, if the riser is at least 1 1/2" from the back to the belly , i have done it lots of times with out any problem.

Hey Stan,
How have you been? Check out this Mamba,I think he'll be good as long as he keeps enough in the grip,a couple contrast strips won't hurt tho.

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Hey Kenny,

I've been good, thanks.  Thanks for the pic of the Mamba, I guess I'd forgotten about them and the Bear bows that do something similar.  If it works in the recurves it oughta be fine on this bow.

My buddy is one of my assistant basketball coaches so we did his riser up with accent stripes to look a little like a basketball.  I think it'll be okay.  Take care,

Stan
