Anyone use spray paint instead of dipping shafts? Those that have this experience, do you use primer first or just spray the shaft with the color that you want?

Also, dipping or spray painting the shafts would have any effect on the spine? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've used spray paint on alum shafts, with no problem, just be sure to use the glossy. If it effected spine, I sure didn't notice enough to make any difference.

Yup I have used spray paint for crown on woodies before.  It works good.  I tape the shaft below and spray the top.

I spray paint my carbons. Just tape off what you want and spray in light misting coats.  Works great. I use fletch tape because fletch-tite eats the paint. Tripper

I do the same as twosheds.  I use the epoxy appliance paint, and boy does it hold up well and holds the fletch tape good too.

very easy way to crest!

Billy, looks like Santa took up archery.  Look out reindeer!  I do like the creativity.  Maybe I can do some of those.  The kids would love 'em.

I used Krylon on Gold Tips and Duco and it did fine, but when I used it on Beeman MFX it did not stick. That was with 5 coats. Better try it on the carbon you are using and also the glue type. I love Duco and it works on bare shafts. Ken
