Hey there folks. Been a little while! It's been a rough go the past year. Long story short, looks like after 17 years I'm going to have to medically retire from the Army. I thought I took my 4 tours in Iraq in stride, but apparently my brain didn't have as good a time with it. Ah well, sorting out my new normal - some days I win, others I call it a draw. We'll see how the next few months shake out, but the wheels are in motion at least. Prayers that His will is done are always appreciated.  Not a pity party story, just explaining my absence.
I'm loving the new format, Mr. Rob and Mr. Terry, you guys are gilding the lilly for sure here!
I just might make it into the woods this year; probably won't kill much - but I may make it there. Got a lovely Kodiak Hunter that seems to be quite agreeable. I need to dig through the archives here and see if I can figure out a year for it. Older than me I'm sure, but arguably in better shape, ha! Well, I have some catching up to do on the pages here, but its great to see some familar faces and revel in the class of tradgangers.

Welcome back and my thoughts and prayers are with you! I can relate. Do get some time in the woods if you can. I have found it to be a great source of relief. I just let my mind drain away! :biglaugh:

Welcome back. Sorry for the rough patch,  but it sounds like you have a good perspective on it.  Time in the woods with that Kodiak is sure to help.

Best wishes!

everyone's mileage is different. for me it was a good understanding wife, and time. lots of time!
i didnt think what we did had any real effect on me- it took 20 years to start showing its head.
but alls good. i just had to learn how to categorize it and box it up.

you sound like you have a very positive enthusiastic outlook on life, i'll bet you will get this figured out in no time!
time alone in the bush is a good thing for me too! Which is kinda ironic, as thats where it all started.

good luck brother, and feel free to drop a line if you want to sound off!

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. Its great to see so many of the names of the guys who have taught me so much and whom I admire. You're all top class. I'm going slow, I have time before fall and an abundance of time on my hands. Right now it just feels good to have some tension on the string.

Hang in there.  You're still needed and appreciated.  That bow can be a strong therapeutic tool.  Let it focus your mind and spirit.
