To start this thread I want to make it clear it is not a bowyer bashing thread so lets not mention any names....
With the popularity with bowyers using footed limb lamination's has anyone else seen cloudy patches starting around the joins in the lamination after some time. I bought a bow unseen a few weeks ago trusting the sellers description of near new condition. When it got here I noticed the odd marks around the joins on the lamination's mid limb. I can see how this might be a high stress point as the  decorative lams are very thin so the join would have very little glue to cope with the stresses of the limbs bending. The process of doing these footings are fairly new really (only a few years) so interested to see if others are noticing the same thing with bows a few years old ( 5 or more ). I marked the edges of the white patches and have been shooting it heaps and they are not growing.

Hard to say exactly what your dealing with but I have seen it before where the slight discoloration was due to the glue itself penetrating the lamination during the splicing process and causing a slight discoloration under the glass.
Hope that is all it is in your case.

What Crittergetter said.  The bowyer who made the bow is probably the best one to ask.  However, the process of footing the limbs is not new.  Fred Anderson Jame Berry and others have done it for many years.
