Well, I'm looking to buy a recurve for hunting just about anything here in the lower 48.  I used to use a bear grizzly but the limbs had got twisted over the years.  I'm looking for a good, dependable bow around 55lbs.  I'm not sure what brands I need to look for or stay away from.  If any of you all have some good advice that would get me rollin' I'd appreciate it.

Don't worry so much about brands. Try some and then pick the one that feels good in your hand and shoots comfortably for you.

Tim is right.
Be careful of the weight, don't want to be over bowed.

If you can't get to a 3D shoot and try some, give Sipsey River a Call 205-387-2388.John is a sponsor and has a lot of bows coming and going this time of the year.John will be at Twinn Oaks this weekend so you may not be able to get him untill he gets back.
