Does anyone have any experience or comments on the Bob Lee Dark Archer?  I'm looking at one that is 58 inches long.

Thanks!

Bill

Dannon

I was checking them out yesterday myself. I wouldn't mind having one of them.

I don't have one, but from what I've been hearing, it's a very accurate and fast little bow. Tripper

I have a DARK ARCHER 58"s,50#'S @29"s. The bow says 28"s. Sandy made a mistake at Bob lee archery with the printing on the limb. I also had them hold off with putting that double bull medallion in the riser. I just didn't care for the looks of that thing in the bow.The bow is smooth, silent and fast. With Easton XX75 GG 500's (2016)I get 179 fps with 37#'s K.E.
Last season I hunted with my Bob Lee HUNTER. It's 62"s,48#'s @28"s. I was able to take 3 does. All 3 were double lung pass thru's. All were under 20 yards. I use the same arrows for for bows. Hope the info helps. Any other questions just send me a PM. I'm already looking at another Bob Lee bow.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ray,

What's the difference between the "Hunter" and the dark Archer ?

I have the Hunter three-piece takedown
56" 43# @ 29"  why did you change from the Hunter to the Dark Archer, I find that my Hunter is plenty fast, I'm using Axis 500's with 125 grain stinger upfront, 5 in. left helical turkey feathers.

They were both the same price they think, maybe the dark Archer was a little bit more.  Rob said he used the same bow, only I think his was a 52 pounder, I was concerned about the 29 in. draw length that I have.  But it sure is smooth with the Hunter, I've had no problems with it.  It's a great little bow.  What I also like is if I want to get different lambs I can do so without the whole cost of another bow.

I also know, this is probably the first bow I've had out of many that I will not sell, it's a great little bow.

Pastor Carl,
There isn't any difference in the craftsmanship and quality of work in either bow. Once you get past the color, lenght, draw, speed and K.E. there isn't any difference. I didn't have this bow last season. I bought the DARK ARCHER in mid Nov'07 and I was already back from my 2 major hunting trips. If I would have had it, I would of used it for the second trip.
It's kind of funny though. I still feel more comfortable shooting my HUNTER T/D which is longer.
There's not a scratch or hole on the bow. (There was a small blemish that Rob Lee told me how to repair which is located up by the string grove. If I wouldn't have mentioned it, no one would have known it was there). It's 6 months old and I paid $560.00. The bow may hit the market soon. I'll let it go with a brand new string, bow sock and CD from Bob Lee Archery that gives all the does and don'ts for a reasonable price. (PRICE UNDECIDED). It seems like I perfer longer bows and it's not the right grip for me. My hand feels like it is slipping so I tried a bow saddle(I think it's called. You stick it on your grip to prevent your hand from sliding. It's black like the bow. You don't know it's there. Don't laugh now but I found a little bow string wax on the grip works wonders for me).

A 58" Dark archer would make you a good bow, I have their hunter bow 54". Bob Lee makes a good bow, as good as any out there.

I have Bob Lee " Hunter " and I just came back from comparing myself to each bow, again.  The other bow that I have the " Whip " I just got both of those bows in March, and you are correct, I don't know what it is, but I just shoot better with a "plain Jane" Bob Lee Hunter, I'm shooting a 435 gr  Axis 500 arrow it shoots at 187 fps.  I'm shooting with 125 gr up front.

It is smooth, quiet, and has a nice comfortable draw.  I really like the accuracy that I'm getting from the Bob Lee "56" with a short riser "15"

I don't want to but I will probably eat my words, and sell my "Whip"     I do seem to be better with the recurve.

Pastor Carl,
I could maybe get a few more FPS out my HUNTER T/D but I'm shooting a 517 gr arrow. I use a 150gr Magnus Stinger 4 blade broadhead.
This set up worked great for me last season. The longer bow seems to work better for me.

That's the one thing that is so cool about the Hunter, its 56 in. and I did not even notice the shortness of it.  I don't even think about that when I shoot it.

I think our setups are about equal because mine is only a 43 # but I may be getting a little more out of it, my drawings is actually 29.5"

I think my "Whip" 62" 43 # @ 29" will go up on the classifieds.

Correction, it is on the classifieds

Nice Bob Lee bow!

If it's even close to my 58" Lee TD Hunter in shootability, it's going to be a winner!...
