My good buddy sent me this for opening Spring Gobbler season April 26th. I thought it was pretty cool to have something made from a piece of wood that was cut when it was. And also the history that went with the call. Imagine a bow made from wood like this. If not appropriate Please delete.

Looks like it would go good with a curly maple Fedora. Very nice! Hap

Hap the Fedora's are 40 min over the mountain from me.

Sweet looking box call!

I love a box call, actually my most used call.

Does he make them for sale or as a hobby??I kinda collect them and would love to see his work in person.

Oh yea,to keep it on topic...........it would make a lovely bow with that wood too.

Beautiful box call, and a great link to the past..

Curly maple is one of my favorite bow woods.

My new Firefly has it in the riser and on the limbs..

Beautiful call!    I have a couple of osage billets that I am thinking of having my brother in law saw into thin slices so I can make some box calls from it. These are good aged billets but it will be quite a while before I can take any classes to help me build a bow from them.

Thanks guys, Drew that's a saaaweeet looking bow. Varmint yes he does take orders , I do a little collecting myself. If you Pm me I can give you his contact info. Don lives in Fletcher NC. Kinda hard to read what's written on the bottom of the call. I wanted to keep the picture in guidelines for posting. A little info on the wood history , The wood was cut in 1963 in Fayette cty West Virginia.

By a gentlemen that was a Legendary musical instrument craftsman. His forte was making violins and made his first one in April of 1931 and perfected his craft throughout the years. He lived to the age of 85 and was working in his shop when his life ended in 1996.

Right side of the call has an old hen sound, if you slow the cadence down you can get a deep gobbler yelp. Sounds like a dog barking. Left side has an different young hen sound, all turkey. 2 - Big osage is good
