Although with Carbon arrows Robinhoods are fairly common, I had one today that happened with perfect timing. After working with a group of a dozen or so kids and their parents at a LSBA event. One of the kids called me out. Mr Thomas we want to see you shoot. I had set a Bear target at 25 yards and was lucky enough to send my first arrow dead center of the 10 ring. After a loud roar from the crowd one of the dads said " I bet you can't do it again". I knew before I turned the arrow loose I was going to knock off the nock off the first arrow. The brite yellow nock looked as big as a tennis ball to me when I was baring down on it. Shazam I smacked the second arrow 10" up inside the first.

Buff, that sounds like one of the few (only?) true Robin Hoods I've seen, including my own.  Seems like an "honest" Robin Hood should start with an arrow that is EXACTLY where you want it.  I've got a few pairs of ruined arrows, but none went exactly where I wanted.  I've got busted arrows -- you've got a legit Robin Hood.  Congrats on yours!

Sometimes dreams DO come true! Great demo, and everybody saw that you were the real deal. It is wonderful to walk the walk with style.

Woody is right. Byron Ferguson, at a demo in Baltimore, said that unless your Robin Hood is in the center of a target, it is not a Robin Hood, but an  accident . Even an accident is evidence of consistancy, though, which is a good thing!   :wavey:
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Great shooting!
Oh, so that's the secret, maybe I need to buy some yellow nocks?

That is gonna give those kids something to talk about for years and will never forget it.
If you had not taken the time it would have never happened.  Spending time with those kids is the real deal.  Nice shooting man, that's awesome!
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

BUFF

We (the LSBA) host youth shoots all over the state. We do boy/girl scout camps, Outdoor expo, Texas parks and wildlife events ect. Pretty much anywhere we can get a group of kids together. I don't post about it here because as well as using the little recurves we also use Genesis bows.
