In your opinion, if you can only have one, what is the best take down recurve being made and why?
Is it how well it shoots, how quiet it is, or the system itself?  thanks for your input....BLM

Lots of really nice ones out there and I think it is more of a personal preference.  I dont think I could say one is better than any of the others of the ones that I have shot.

I think the "best" bow is personal thing.
For me, the best take-down recurve is my Schafer Silvertip recurve. I like the feel of the handle. I like how smooth the draw is. I like the quietness of the bow. For me it's the best take-down recurve!

Well just for sake of argument I would consider the Morrison's for speed, grip, fit, finish, limb options.  Also RER for speed and the static tips shoot so smooth and quiet.  No slouch in the looks either.  I have a Silvertip that is a smooth operator and as they say "bomb-proof".  Not turned on by most BW's but can't argue with their rep and customer service.  

That's my attempt at an answer, it is useless and doesn't even take into account the beauty and grace of Dale Dye's bows or so many others.  Might be easier to count the stars in the sky.

Bows are too much personal taste to state that one is "best."  The best takedown made is the one you like best.  As for me, I keep going back and picking up my Wes Wallace Mentor, no matter how many new bows come through my door.  It just seems to fit me better than the others.  Good luck, Paul.

This is so subjective that I have a hard time deciding even between the recurves I own!

I suppose if you look at the entire package and having to pick just one; it would be the DAS Daala. It is quick, super tuneable, nice fit/finish, with tons of options. Further, Dave Sosa is tops.

But for intrinsic beauty, smoothness and quiteness, I really like my Osage/Bucote Dakota Hunter by Rick Welch.

I'm gonna get some popcorn and watch this one unfold.

I have two....and they're both Assenheimer's. Very smooth and quiet. I like the grips also.

Personally I'veonly ever shot one that's really got me hooked & that's a Ron Nelson Northstar. I've played with quite a few 'curves & this is the only one I've any intention of keeping! Longbows are so much more.....likeable!  :D

I have to say any of the short hunting risers with ILF limbs.The risers are nearly indestructable.You have different grip options.You can get good recurve and longbow limbs cheap.They are very easy to tune.Overall they just give you a lot of options.About the only negative is in looks.

Of those I've owned including habu, silvertip, RER, Martin, Hoyt GM, Palmer, Marriah and several others, the Habu wins so far with the Hoyt GM being in second. I have a Rose Oak on order and am hoping that it is the one, and am also considering ordering a Foley.

Rose Oak, Wes Wallace, BW, Shaffer,Robertson, Phoebus Archerie ( from France)

For me, it would be a Great Plains T/D recurve, with the Palmer coming in close at second......but I've never shot a Brack or a Wes Wallace and they both look very pleasing.

I have two take down recurve bows. A 64" Bob Lee and a 66" Blacktail Elite and I prefer the Blacktail.

Best bang for the buck would have to be a Chek-mate Hunter II

Best at holding value would have to be Black Widow

Best at no expense spared ? Blacktail, or Border for me !
