is the hoyt gamemaster 2 a good recurve? im interested in a metal riser recurve but cant afford a das. i have a 29.5" dl so its really pretty average.  is it smooth and fairly fast?  thanks for any info!

i have a gamemaster2 and to me it is a sweet shooter....first bow i have ever got a robin hood with also!! but my draw is only 26" so i never would know about stacking. the bow is quality made and will shoot with the best of my other bows. the only thing with the gamemasters is the draw weight is usually heavier than listed on the limbs. my bow is listed 50# @ 28...and its atually 52# at my draw of 26".

Take a look at the Quinns. A very affordable bow with excellent limbs/shooting characteristics.

The Hoyt Dorado is much better product...for my money and shoots better!!!!!this new recurve is catching on...

I love my GM-so much that 2 years ago the Habu and the Marriah hung in the basement all year while I hunted with the GM. I have not shot a Dorado, but have heard good things about them, but some have said they stack a little at longer draw lengths (which makes sense because they are 2 inches shorter than the GM) and that they appear to be slower than the GM. I considered a quinn as well as I have read a lot of positive feedback about them, but I like the looks of the GM much better.

My stepson just got a Dorado, really shoots nice for him and it tuned-up quick. He draws 28", I draw 29.5", I could feel it stacking up quick the last couple inches. It is a 60" bow, I would go longer.

GM II are great little bows. The only thing I would do is go and draw them until you find one you want. They can come in on the heavy side of what is marked on the bow. Overall the bows are exellent and easy to shoot.

The Quinns and Dorado are also great bows and worth looking into.
