All EB Holcomb bows are drop dead gorgeous, but he has a signature "heel" that he puts on the Kodiak Special reproductions he's done.  Anyone have some pics of these?

Dave

not sure if this is what you mean......actually this pic is 'hiding' the heel because of the dark back ground. i will post a few more.

Joe, You not only have taste in bows, you really need to re-think your day job in photography...

Thanks guys.  These are truly functional works of art!  Rare eye candy that's for sure.

Sorry for the studder, I was a little excited.

Joe you are an artist.

Izzy

Joe, please stop posting pics of that 59er.I see it in my dreams often enough and need to get it off my mind.  :banghead:

Joe;

In your pic #2 that shows the Traditional Bowhunter mag you show the backside of what looks like a '59 Kodiak without the leather grip.  What kind of bow is this?  Can you show the shelf side?

Thanks,
Dave

herk.... my bad, sorry. lol

Dave,

That is my first Holcomb bow.  :)   It's getting a leather wrap put on right now; just like the originals.

Ahhhhh, the sweetness....
That ebony and bocote bow still ranks as one of my all-time favorites as far as looks go.

Hey Guys, does Ed still make these bows and do you all have contact information for him.

Oh yeah, and thanks a lot for starting another obsession for me.

These are absolutely incredible.  What kind of wood was used in the '59 remake?

MJB

Looks like African Wenge ? BEAUTIFUL !!

I was told Ed stopped making bows to sell.

All three are technically 59 replicas. The first pic shows a Mcllough Fiftyniner with Ebony riser and Bocote I-Beam. The other is a Holcomb 'hybrid' 59'r with a heel grip. Wenge riser with Purpleheart I-Beam and Purpleheart stripes laminations. The last set of pics is also a Holcomb 59'r, Wenge riser and Birdseye Maple I-Beam.

So, i couldn't stand waiting, so i found Ed's phone number in a past thread and called him today.   What a pleasure to talk to.  He is currently working on the Wing P2 that was talked about in the earlier thread.  He didn't say he was going to make any new bows currently but he didn't say no either.   I will let ya know what happens this summer when i talk to him again.  Thanks, Jack
