Never even seen this wood before, let alone used in a bow. Looks a fair bit like butternut to me. Goes really well with the bocote veneer offering a nice contrast. I like it!

Brent is great to talk to. He offered to craft the bow with ebony, & laughed when I said I didn't trust any wood that don't float. Left the choice of woods up to him.

However, don't think I can recommend carbon arrows for this bow. Got a feeling it could get a lil pricey! This is without any sort of tuning other than basic brace height & nock location, full length arrows (26" draw) & about the 5th or 6th of 3 arrow rounds.

I'll let ya know what it shoots like when it's tuned!

BTW, any guesses on what critter that pelt is from?....laffs

Nice shooting Quill. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it for you. When you tune it up a bit, she should start grouping better

Great shooting and I look forward to some harvest pictures.

Beautiful bow, never seen anything made out of Coffeewood, but seen the trees. A lot like locust, same family I think. Early folks used to roast and boil the bean seeds to make a coffee....my grandfather told me the raw beans were "pieson".

Good shootin too...sooner or later you sheepeater boys will stop shootin groups   ;)
