Yup, time for the youngsters to do some bow showings.  :)  Jawge

Question: I have a mulberry tree outside the house.would it be better to wait till summer to cut it and will this make a nice bow in the 55# range? I'll take pic's tomorrow, anyway... I'm going to try that... a friend is going to be dropping trees soon on his property.

Apple limb... use that for my smoker
Ash trees... try a bow or 2 from them.

Y'all make me smile  :)

Cut bow wood when you can.

Walnut makes a pretty bow.

Osborne, Oklahoma.

Boo backed black walnut?  Make your bamboo thin and your bow long.  Walnut isn't the best in compression.  But dang is it pretty.  Go for 50# or under.
Take a kid hunting!

You guys never cease to amaze me!  Wish I had the time and skills to build one but I don't. That is why admire you guys so much...Let's see some pics of those projects in the making!!!

I'm needing the secret for takedown sleeve installment.
One way I was showed was to sand down the brass - but sometimes that makes it very thin - and it still does not fit tight - I can get it lined up correctly - glued up correctly, then spend way too much time getting it to slide smoothly - usually messing it up. - WHAT's THE SECRET?

H.A.: I rubbed the connection with beeswax and it would fit tight but still separate. When fitting I used a polishing wheel then buffed sleeve. It did not thin the metal.

I had a check in the lower billet so I wrapped it with sinew/hide glue just for insurance.
