got everything all ready, did a dry run(twice), all good to go. gathered my glue and for the life of me couldn't find the plastic wrap. have to wait till morning now. glad i hadn't mixed anything up yet.

my son went into the blackberry bushes and retrieved the other riser, he claimed it and drew lines on it for "his" bow. so now i gots to order up some lames and glass for him. he has crazy ideas.

Wasn't until my daughter went to be evaluated that I realized she comes by many of life's challenges honestly. The whole tree/apple thing I guess. My poor parents...

Of course, she's also the one who would pull a riser out of the scrap bin and show me how it would still make a decent bow.

Canopyboy, I cant help but post this since you mentioned your daughter and the ADD/ADHD. I grew up with it as well, and while modern society wants us to believe it is a detriment, it can actually be an attribute.
It is widely accepted to be tied to a genome called DRD4, this is one of the genomes that is believed to be why our ancestors migrated, they couldn't sit still either! Whats over that hill, and the next,- squirrel!
You noticed it yourself that she can see things in a way others don't. Just focus on both your positives, it can be as much a gift as anything.

Wow some great looing squirrels I mean bows. I am glad I don't have to choose a bow.

canopyboy

You guys have me really wanting to go throw some arrows at squirrels. I do believe my recipient's bow has now been named: "SQUIRREL!" Hope he's ok with that.

Mark, it's all good. There are a lot of good things that go with it. Wouldn't trade the way things are for anything. Well, I'd love some Legos once in awhile...

Got the riser all shaped up today.  Needs a lot of sanding yet, but the shape feels good to me.  Tried a little different riser design than I usually do, and I think I like it better.  Still need to shape the butt end of the limbs yet, but that's about it other than sanding everything.  Anyway, here's where I'm at:

Also did the tips quite different than usual.  I think you could stab something with them if you run out of arrows    :D

She shoots pretty nice too!

Oh, and I had me a helper in the shop today.  First time running the drum sander and he looks like a pro!  (If you click the picture it'll take you to a video)

Nice work Joe and glad to see you have a bow elf helping you out.

SWEET!!!!       The family and I returned from an archery tournament today (8 hrs @ tourny + 5 hrs drive home) hit the shope and got the lams tapered ....hope i have done it correctly... brought them in the house to loose any moisture and hope the glue flys tomorrow so Roy don't get after me

Here we go, all finished and ready to ship.

Osage lever bow, 65" ttt, timber rattler backed, beaver tail handle wrap, coco tip overlays, and whitetail hair on rest.  She also has another secret that I'll let the new owner reveal.  My stitching skills on the handle wrap leave something to be desired.

Well, I've changed my mind again. I don't like the way the persimmon performs so now I'm going with HHB.
