From an ad in 1968 Bow and Arrow Magazine.   :biglaugh:

Even way back then, there were heretics.  :scared:

 :biglaugh:
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

A subtle play on words is better than a poke in the eye.

Shovelbuck

The man who taught be the in's and out's of barebow shooting shot one of those. They were/still are great shooters.
No matter what type of bow is shot, we're all archers.

Curtis....when did they move Houston to Missouri.
Dang it....I miss a lot 8^).

You mean to tell me they were shooting metal riser bows, back when it was just archery and not trad?
Well I'll me...
Many have died for my freedom.
One has died for my soul.

Dick in Seattle

Love it, George....    I've been trying them... it's mind expansion without drugs  :^)  I've decided I have a split personality... I shoot Hills off the shelf with wood arrows, bow canted trad style.  i shoot recurves with a raised rest and carbons, bow vertical.   Didn't even realize I was shooting them differently until yesterday, when I noticed.  As I told someone else today who was worried about the "tradness" of limb protectors, it's a matter of whatever twangs your string...

"It ain't how well the bow you shoot shoots, it's how well you shoot the bow you shoot."

Earl E. Nov...mber,   this will really freak them out.  From 1968:

Arrow wraps from 1951...

Mechanical relase, 1950...

Some kind of wierd bow sight from 1947...

See the crossbow at the bottom of the page of the above post, it was advertised as early as 1950,

This is in August of 1950 American rifle, that crossbow is on the front cover !

They started deluding archery early

Well, at least they had it in the right magazine.   ;)

ZaneD

Jason's got it right!! At least they put it in the Rifleman magazine instead of trying to pass it off as archery!
