Meant to post this to PowWow but put it on Photography by accident...

Eastern Sunday I had all to myself and took a long postponed foray to surface hunt for arrowheads along local river shores. My expectations were low to begin with, but were wildly exceeded with my first ever arrowhead finds. Thought I would share them with you all.

My very first arrowhead ever...

The last (and best??) of the day...

And a pic of all together...

Don't know much about these things. So feel free to share what you know about them (material, age etc). I thought it was interesting such a wide variety in material and design all found together along a half mile stretch of riverbank on Maryland's eastern shore.

I can't help ya with the age, material etc... but sure was a nice find!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!

Nice heads. I am hoping to look for some in the fields once they plow here. I dont know much about them either, but I would suggest getting in touch with Oneshot or Oneshot1...he seems very well versed on artifcats. He is here in NY, and has quite a collection.

My father-in-law might be able to help. I'll send him the link.

Get on a site called Paleo Planet and go to the acheological site.  Submit photos and they will  tell you all you want to know about your points.

Steve Kendrot

Cool. Thanks for the ideas.

Steve, the easiest way to get on Paleo Planet is to go to, ronsprimitiveskills.blogspot.com.  There will  be a list of sites to go to on the left and I think Paleo  is the third one down.  If you like the site put it in yoyr favorites as I did.  I visit it daily.

Found it Steve....again wayyyyy cool stuff, you may have a partner in searching for these things. We need to go "fishing" and turn it into an arrowhead search

Does something to the soul to get linked to the past with those arrowheads!!!!!  :campfire:
