I got an O.L. Adcock one piece longbow 62" 53#@28 The string that came with it is sooooo thin, that even after being served, my arrow nocks just fall off it. What do you guys do in this instance? Should I;

1. Put a new batch of serving on top of the old stuff to make it thicker?

2. Squeeze my nocks together to make them tighter?

3  Build a new string out of B50 so its fatter?  If I do build a string out of B50 does it need to have "padded loops" Also will I lose allot of speed?  And last how many strands should it be? 14, 16......?

4.  Does anyone know what kind of material my Original string that came with the O.L. Adcock Longbow was made of?

Thanks!

Talk to some of the string makers but there are different dia servings that are used with the small dia strings.  If you let them know how many strand sting and what nocks your using they will be able to tell you what serving dia should be used.

tenbrook, I know the strings that come from A&H are D97, I think OL uses the same material.  I wouldn't use B50 on that bow.  Every longbow I've shot it on has added considerable hand shock (I'm not a huge stickler for speed so can't help you in that department).  What I do when the nocks are too loose on my string is wrap the string, just in the area of my arrow nock, with dental floss.  Always worked for me...Mike

Reserve the center serving with a thicker diameter fiber.
