O.K. Have had my new recurve for a bout a month.  A chek-mate hunter II the draws 55# at 29".  In preperation I bought some Easton Legacy arrows spind for 55-60#s and some 125 grain field tips and broadheads.  Now with all the FOC reading I have been doing here it seems like my set up is lacking.

The bow tuned very easily with the arrows and shoots great.  It is quiet both at the shot and while the arrows are in flight.  I shhoot indoors four days a week and thhe sound of the arrow hitting the target is louder than the bow or arrow.

I am thinking of using a heavier bh and slightly increasing my foc.  HoweverI believe this mighht require a heavier spined arrow. If everytning is working great as it is do I need to worry for whitetails, or will this bow and arrow combo provide enough penetration?
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

That set up should do great on Whitetails. It's not broke don't fix it. Spoken from experience. Duane

If you're getting good arrow tune & it's quiet, why go looking for change? Your set-up is just fine for most any critter.

Good luck!
