I have several of Jeff Massie's Longhorns.  Does anyone known the Code of Capital letters that they used to mark these bows?  Thanks...Jeff

I wondered about that myself.  I still regret selling my Longhorn.  Jeff is/was a master of his craft!
What's the rest of that one on the far right look like?  That's a heck of a collection!!

Doc, looks like a code for the laminations, either thickness or material. I bet if you contacted Jim Belcher he would know since he helped design the Longhorn and is the present bowyer for this design.

Oh my God...Doc, if you ever want to sell the Bocote Longhorn, please let me know. I was the original owner of that one and really miss it.  I cannot believe I'm looking at a picture of her.

Sorry...Got carried away.  I don't know the significance of the lettering either.

Thanks.  Doug Key

I wonder if the last letter being L is for Longhorn.

Jim Belcher is one of the good guys and a great guy to talk to!!  Give him and call and I am sure he will answer you without a problem!!

Jeff Massie would never give info on the ID code that he used on the Longhorn. Jim Belcher would be the person to contact. Like Jeff, Jim is a fine bowyer, master craftsman and a good guy to boot.

I think Jims bows shoot even better!!!! :)

Check your e-mail Tippit. As for the above remark by bayoulongbowman, I have one question. How can a lefthander from the bayou of La tell the difference, and if he could, who would ever listen to him? If he wasn't writing it down you couldn't understand him anyway. Ha! Ha! Long live the "Longhorn" Mark.  :bigsmyl:

I know the secret of the codes.

I asked Jeff years ago when he started using letters instead of numbers. It was in a moment of weakness (after a bowl of jambalaya and several adult beverages)   :readit:  I was, however, forced to a sworn oath not to reveal the contents under the everlasting penalty of the severed bowstring and delaminated limb.

M is for the Mudflaps on his pickup truck;
O is for the Oil on his hair;
T is for Dolly Parton's great big Txx'x
H is for Haggard
E is for Eggs and
R is for REDNECK

It's Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother   :banghead:
