Very nice, Eric. You do awesome work.

Well tonight I drove 50 miles round trip to pick up the free Osage I was offered the other night. LMAO, it was a waste of time and gas. Oh Well....

fujimo

milled up a yew cant i had here. it was 7'8" long- 7" wide. and i cut an assortment of 3/4" and 1" boards. will be great for backing with boo etc for some nice laminated bows.
i get about 35 rings per inch.
this tree was cut about 5 years ago, and been indoors for the last 2. gonna seal all the boards, (backs bellies and ends) so they dont check as it drops the last little bit of mc to get it down to 12%. they are currently sitting at our equilibrium mc for our "coastal rain forest"
then cut them into bow size "strips"- so that the moisture can dissipate out the "sides" slowly.

any ideas in this regard will be appreciated.

such beautiful wood!!

Fleshed out a deer hide. Now I can't decide if I want leather to make a new quiver (and if so do I want hair on) or rawhide for backing bows.

I used my dull machete to do the task

It sure is hard finding a good hunting partner.

Man we had a good natural ground blind about 10yrds off standing milo and deer highway coming out of the cedars.

We seen some walking back to the car, 3 doe and 1 buck. We had to leave early to catch the parade in town.

If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Enjoy these days, Kelly, they go fast, my friend. Much too fast. I miss my hunting partner.

KellyG

Red hill I know that all to true. that is my 4 year old nephew. Mine (who did the same thing at that age)is truning 19 in just over a week.

That's because you're old Kelly!

My hunting partner is 22 now, Kelly. He's still in college working on a civil engineering degree. That means he'll probably have to move far away for a job after college. My youngest, 20 years old, has never cared for hunting. He does enjoy venison, just not all required to get it.
Dave, hopefully you'll someday be called old, friend. It takes special talents and skills to garner enough seasons to be considered "old"! LOL!

Put some finish on a bow, then a handle wrap, and got a black locust blank pulling 50@14 with low brace.
