Fred,
The Michigan Bow Hunters sponsor a least a couple of pheasant hunts each year.  That is what inspired me to take up a traditional bow.  I went just to handle a dog and after a day of watching 6 guys with longbows and recurves having such a blast I decided I needed to try it.  Bought my first longbow that summer and haven't looked back since.  Now I can combine my two passions, longbows and my bird dogs.

Just a little side note, we were using just some random old broadheads for this outing, but has anyone here tried to use those giliteen broadheads, (i think thats what there called).  The ones that are made for turkeys? They have like a 3 inch diameter or something.  Well anyway if anyone has I was just wondering how well they worked.

I must be getting old Vance , I can't remember the name of the little country resturant we ate at , it was close to where we were hunting and 4 guys had soup, unlimited salad bar and cheese steaks or chopped steak platters with endless drinks (Ice tea and soda )The best part it cost a total of $27.00 . The food was great and I even thought of you . If you had seen how far I walked and how close I came to some of them Chuckers and Quail you would have thought I was a younger man . I am far from being a good shot and if I can come close and even hit a Chucker then anyone can , give it a try you won't be sorry , Fred
