I want to ask all the old vets here because I know I'm not the first guy to run into this. I shoot a 200 grain field tip on my carbon arrows with perfect arrow flight.

What's gonna happen when I put a made up 200 grain broadhead on there, but now the arrow is an extra two inches longer? This is bound to have an affect on the arrow spine cause its not longer than it was, so do I need a lighter broadhead?

I cant check it right now cause I'm in Iraq, but once my unit rotates home (soon) I'll be able to, for now I just want to know what I can expect based on ya'lls experiences.

thanks!

With all due respect to others opinions-if you want perfect flight, the shaft will have to be about 1/2" shorter for most shooters. We have tested many many shooters and bows, some can shoot the exact same length, but most need it 1/2" to 3/4" shorter for best broadhead flight.

Thanks much fellas, it's hard to describe the feeling knowing in just a few days from now we'll be back on a big gray airplane going home. Again.

Anyhow, my arrows fly great with 175 and 200 field tips, but they're short. so I was wondering if there would be anychange to spine when I put a 3 inch long broadhead weighing the same thing on there. Guess it'll depend on my setup and how I shoot it, huh? That's kinda what I thought too.

I'll let you know in about 40 days!

Thanks guys.

John, I'll be calling you as soon as I get home for some more of those excellent arrows.....

could also lower your brace height a tad..that will make your arrow act stiffer...

I gotta agree with Charlie,Terry, and Bill on this one....never had it make a bit of difference....if I match the weight and the BH spins perfect    :campfire:
