With all the info about high FOC arrows, where would be a good place for me to start?  I normally shoot wood spined 50-55 and in aluminum I shoot a 28inch 2016 with a 145 grain point and a 27inch 2016 with 175 grain point.(both of these bareshaft great)  Most of the archery shops around here stock Gold Tips. If I stayed with the Gold tips, that would be easier for me to bareshaft because I could have them cut and then shoot at the store. I would also like to keep the overall weight around 500 to 530 grains so they would all have the same point of impact.  If I have to front load the safts alot, I would rather use 250 grain field points than brass inserts. I don't really want to spend 75 to 100 dollars on arrow shafts either.  What do ya'll suggest?

I'm sure some folks will be able to give you some good starting places for you particulat bow, but it's going to help them if you give them the specific bow (degree of center shot is a factor) and its draw-weight at your draw. Do you draw 28" or normally use a 28" overall shaft length?

No problem using GT's, but to get arrow mass that low you'll have to stay with the Lites; as low a gr./inch version as you can. They work. I've used them for some test arrows, and have used them in setups for some folks.

The money side of this might bite you, but the Carbon Express Terminator Hunters 4560 might do for you.  YOu have to **** for them, but they weigh 11 gpi so getting to your weight is quite easy.  Be sure to cut them off slowly.  They are quite sensitive to spine.  You could get to over 500 just w/grizzly bh's.

The 45/60 will be too stiff I am sure, but as the good doctor said, we need the bow you are shooitng and its specs. ecsp. the #age at your draw length, if ya shoot a 27" 2016 your draw has to be pretty short. Shawn

Sorry ya'll.  I forgot to give ya the bow info.  I shoot a new Super Kodiak 50lb.  My draw length is 26 inches.  I shoot a dacron string; not fast flight.

That would be 44#'s roughly at your draw. I would get some carbonwood 2000s and cut to 28"s and use 225 to 250 up front, ya may get away with the 35/55 Gts, but I would think ya would need over 250 grains up front or have lots of arrow hanging out front. I kow the GTs and the 2000s spine close but I have found the carbonwoods easier to tune. Shawn

i would try a 35/55 cut to 28" with a 100grn insert and probably a 175grn point for starters.
