I'm looking at getting my first blind.  The ameristep is 90" tall, the Yukon is 80.

How tall a blind do you all use ? I'm 6'2" and shoot a 62" recurve typically.

Will be using for Turkey (I hope) and deer.

Any input is well appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know anything about the Yukon, but I really like the Penthouse.  There's room for me and my 66" longbow and a chair.  I can also get my son, his bow, and his chair in it with me too, although it's a little crowded.

I like the idea of being able to fit two people since the girlfriend is showing interest in hunting.

The penthouse if the largest I can find ..... so far   ;)

It was the largest I could find too--the main reason I went with it.  I don't think you can have too much room in a blind.  Down side is it's not light, but comes it's own back pack.

The "cutting edge" blinds produced in Castlerock Colorado are great for longbows

Do you have to brush the blind in some for it to work....mark#78

I imagine it depends on where you hunt, and what you are hunting.  From what I've been told (no experience yet) turkeys don't pay a blind any attention, but deer will usually bugger on any blind that's not brushed in, or if they aren't used to it.  I have one Penthouse I leave out year-round (it's going on 4 or 5 years in the same spot) so the deer would get used to it.

I've heard "a deer is a deer", but from talking to folks that have hunted in different places the deer in my area are even worse than most places--they'll jump at their own shadow.  I've gone to hunting off the ground more because they literally come down the trail looking up into the trees.

This is the one I'm thinking about, Ameristep Dominator. I like the Magnetic windows closures on this one. Seems to be plenty roomy and I should be able to stand and shoot my recurve from it if needed.

Hey, thought I'd chime in. I just bought a Penthouse, tangle camo last week from Nathchezss.com, on sale for $139.00 plus shipping, total about $150. I am 5.9" tall and can stand up and shoot my 62" recurve in it, sit down on my chair, plenty of room for me and the wife as she is a die hard deer hunter also. THey are still on sale their, if Ican do some trading, going to get another one, hope this helps.
