About a month ago I received these beautiful 2nd hand Ancient Spirits action boo limbs (thanks again Joel)and decided to build a riser for them.

The riser is finished and my "selfmade" bow shoots better than I'd have ever dreamed. I've never shot this well    

A friend laminated a strip of plumtree between two blocks of Wenge.

And I started to hack away everything that didn't look like a recurve riser    

Looks great so far, looking forward to more pics.

had to do some sanding on the lower limb pad cause is wasn't completly flat

I bought this saw guide for the riser projekt, but it's great for cutting angles for knife handles as well.

You should be able to get it in the states...its called "Perfect saw guide" made by Topman-Z tools japan. The saw is a japanese style Kataba without back reinforcement.

Get yourself a few microplane rasps for the shaping.It will save a lot of hours shaping with inferior rasps....
I have the japanese saw system as well and it is very good.

Good effort mate. That bow will need to see the NZ alps bro.

Well Tom, it's he only room I got.
Can't say I'm too happy about the all evening wenge-dust-sneezers, but it's worth it    

Put some micarta-type stuff on top of the limb pads, to decrease the ammount of "wrong angle" that was left from sanding.

 
 
then it was lunch on my new workbench     :D  
 

Mounted the limbs and took my new bow for a little basement shooting session...I couldn't stop shooting
