Been a few threads on here recently that have had me thinking about changing several things about how i hunt and my equipment, like the high FOC arrows, single bevel heads etc..

now iv got to thinking about Fletching after seeing JC's posts about 4x short banana fletches.

what fletching do you think is the quietest, and most efficient? (for hunting arrows)

shape, hight, length, helical whatever variable or configuration?

would be interested to see if you have found something to be very quiet and effective at stabilizing your hunting arrows.
making sure you'v looked passed the "i use it because it looks cool" factor   :knothead:   which im often guilty of

Andy, read that whole feltching and Extreme FOC thread. Derek is on his way towards starting a research project to see if he can find just that. I've 'seeded' his project with a small contribution, and several are offering help with the fletching supplies.

I know if you have a 5.5" nana chopper, cut the feathers to 4" then chop them... I can't hear them like I did the 5.5" nana's

yip Ed it was that very Thread that got me re-thinking my set-up

Parabolics are the most quiet cut.

For me, the best is 5" Parabolic for quietness and broadhead flight.

give me a few months and I should have some measurable, repeatable, and objective research on that very thing.  Still I am curious as to others "experiances" as well.

DesertDude

Bard1, I can send you some fletching if needed. I have all RW feathers in 5" parabolics, shields and some naners.....Mark

Thanks Mark.  I am gonna make a note of that.  I think I am set for feathers at this time, but not 100% sure.  should firm that up.  I'll pm you if I am in need. =)  Thank you though.

Hope you don't mind me asking. With a 4 fletch could you use 2 4" and 2 3".
