I am going to switch over to wood arrows this year and I have done a couple of searches in here and not really found what I am looking for in the way of advise.
When choosing wood arrows at the start it is a worth getting the test sample from 3 rivers? I shoot easton 2114 now my bow is 45lbs martin rebel I would like to use 125g or 145g grizzly broad heads I have my arrows cut at 27" now and it seems to work. Also what type of wood would yawl recommend and any retailers too. Do I need to buy a straighting tool and if so is there a simlpe one that works? And any other experience on this, Thanks

You could probably get pretty close without a test kit but if you like tuning and getting the best possible set up for your bow I would go ahead and get the kit.  Your arrows are much shorter than mine and lower draw weight, and those are two factors that need to be considered.  
One skill you really will want to learn is straightening.  There are a number of different tools that will all work once you learn the process.  I mostly use a regular dial indicator type straightner - same thing you would use to straighten aluminum arrows - and it does a great job.

With a little more info, we can determine the correct arrow.  What is your draw length?  I am thinking 26" since your arrows are 27".  Your bow wt, is it 45lbs @ 28" or is it 45lbs @ your draw length.

The 2114 shaft spines at 64#, which would seem stiff for your bow, but if it works for you, you might want to try 60-65# woodies. The best shafts I ever bought were from Rogue River. They are no longer in business, but Wapiti Archery took over from them and are said to be just as good.
