Hello all,

I would say it is safe to assume most of us have more than one bow. Everyone has their different reasons and different uses to justify owning them. My question is- who has traded their collection of multiple bows for one 3 piece take down with a couple of different sets of limbs, and if you did were you happy with your choice? Being a person that does not like to have too much stuff this is an option I am considering. It is also possible that I am just getting cabin fever and have had too much time on my hands to think. Anyway what are your thoughts on this?

WHAT?  Only one bow!!!    

I know my wife would approve of that idea.    

I would have such a tough time deciding which ONE,  but I am sure there is merit in this (cost and better, more consistant shooting).  

I usually shoot one of two bows, both takedowns and both by the same bowyer.  I have a hard enough time with my shooting and don't think spreading it out would help.  Have a few other bows, just don't use them anymore.  Maybe I should sell?????

I just traded for one of them one bow wonders. I got a Timber Ghost with recurve and longbow limbs. I really like the idea since the riser remains the same. No grip adjustments. Just don't let my wife know I said that please.

I am more of a multiple bow with mulitple limbs for each kind of guy.  :D  I do like being able to swap out limbs on the same riser but still wind up haveing several bows set up different most times.

I have to have at least two bows ready to go at all times.  My concern is always if one was to get stolen while in my truck, the other, in case of accidentally falling out of the tree while I am getting my stuff ready, the last if my boe for some reason breaks, delaminates....  I at least have a back up...

I've had several three-piece takedowns, some with multiple sets of limbs.  The problem I often ran into was I wanted to shoot the bow with the set of limbs that weren't on it so I spent a lot of time changing limbs, and strings.
Don't have any now.  All one piece longbows.  I just grab the one I want and shoot.

I have 2- Bob Lee risers and and many sets of limbs in various weights.I leave one bow at a camp that is really out of the way and don't want to pack in too much gear so it stays at the camp.I put the same specs within a couple of lbs. of limbs so whichever bow I use it shoots the same.I like my setup b/c late in the season I can go down very easy when I have too much clothes.Kip

Over the years I have had it both ways, and have come to the conclusion that multiple bows are just more fun. I'm sure if I only shot one riser the rest of my life I would be a better shot, however with all the top quality bows it's fun to shoot multiple bows even if it's only two.
More is better.

BOTH! I have a Zipper with 4 sets of limbs, a Thermal with 3 sets and a TimberGhost with 2.  I do try to keep them in the same weight range so I don't need different arrows. It sure does make picking a bow for a hunt complicated though  

and then you would have to create a bow rack that looked like a peacock....

Did someone's wife put him up to this?  It sounds like a plot to sabotage our hobby to me.  Guys, get a bow every time she buys shoes!

Most of my bows are all of the same weight. Have a Palmer and a Predator and never take them down. I may get lighter limbs (40-45) for my daughter but cant see the need for multiple weight limbs for myself.

Buy as many bows as you can!! Who knows? The traditional bow market may crash.  I'm just stocking up to be prepared...LOL
