Hey Gang,
Today my wife took two of my kids to a birthday party leaving me home with my seven year old son.  I showed him this month's issue of Traditional Bowhunter Magazine...there was an article on how you could build an inexpensive bow using pvc pipe.  His eyes lit up and we were off to Home Depot.  Everyone we passed he had to tell, "We're making a Bow for ME!" He was pumped and I was hopeful that the thing would actually work.

Well, we carefully followed the directions and I am amazed at how well this thing shoots!  I spent about $15 and have enough supplies to make another bow for my other son.

Bedtime was a few hours ago and he called me into his room and asked for a good night kiss...as I bent down to kiss him he said, "Dad, thanks for making my bow today, I love it! Can we go to the woods tomorrow?"

I know this sounds corny, but I think we both will remember this day for a long time.

Corny...?  Not in the least.  That is an awesome story.  I forecast this the beginning of countless memories around the mystical flight of the arrow.

Thanks for sharing... I am betting most of us around here would love to see a picture or two of the young man and his bow.

Thanks for not only being a great dad and spending time with your son, but passing on our long and honorable traditions.

Now take the camera along when you guys go out to the woods tomorrow!     :bigsmyl:

Its not about the weapon used, its about the adventure involved.
