Doc... I conceptualized the same bow holder a number of years back. The difference in yours and mine is that I didn't want to use PVC and used flat aluminum stock.
I also use mine by placing the lower limb in the slot of the holder.

Good thinkin!!!

Thanks Charlie,  I thought for awhile there I was just coming up with a junk gadget.  Having my bow right in front of me without movement is what I'm trying to accomplish.  Lord knows I need to slim my day pack down.  But for ground blind hunting, I need to free up my hands from continually holding the bow.  I'm sure this is going to evolve onto something simpler.  That's the beauty of Trad Gang...unlimited experience!  Doc

Hey Tippet-

I see what you mean about a cut arrow being too short. I was kind of thinking that you could use it to support the lower limb instead of the top limb. But then it might not be as stable?

As far as a "junk gadget", well just let me know if you need a field tester.   :bigsmyl:

From a guy that likes to hunt on the ground and never knows exactly where I will be hunting, I can appreciate an item that keeps your hands free.
