Watching Woody do his masterful magic turning rock into pointy weapons at the last weeks TX Sweat was an inspiration for all of us.  I know several guys have gone home with cuts on their hands and a new desire in their hearts to make their own hunting tools.

As much as I'd like to knap stone points, I have too many hobbies as is    But Woody's enthusiasm is contagious.  It made me re-visit forging my steel points again.

Woody,  Thanks for both gifts...my knife river flint head and a rough forged damascus head that is in progress, final shape yet to be determined.  Yes it will be a left wing single bevel...Doc

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

Very cool Doc!  Kind of like Woody's point, but one step up on the evolutionary ladder!
Hard to figure why, but it seems like the farther back we go, the more fun it gets.

Boy that knife river flint sure is pretty rock. Heck of a knapper there! That forged point is rather impressive too doc. I love damascus.
I just started knapping last fall, and it is contagious...one day I will hunt with heads I knapped.
Rather impressive crafting on both of your parts!!

I should have waited til I finished it cause once the damascus is etched, you will really be able to see the pattern.  This was more a Thank You to Woody than looking at my broadhead   :notworthy:    :notworthy:
