im going to use minwax stain and a polycrilic finish but im not shure whay species of cresting paint would be compatable, and is polycrilic compatable with fletch tite,  is there another finish anyone recomends that can be used with the same stain

I have used Bohning cresting paints on top of polycrylic.  Seems to have worked.  Haven't tried it the other way around though, i.e., dipping in polycrylic after cresting.

I use the Testors Model Master paint to crest with and use the Poly clear over it.  I use the wipe on for the shaft but spray over the cresting.  I found the wipe on will smear the cresting occasionally.
It is a world with dew still on it, more touched by wonder and possiblitly than any I have since known.

I just did some. Minwax stain. Polycrylic exterior.Being a painter I always prime. I used testors acrylic on one batch and regular folk art acrylics on a second batch. There are more colors to choose from with the folk art brand of acrylics. To finish I dip tubed 2 more coats of exterior polycrylic steel wooling between coats. I'm partial to satin finish. Arrows came out beautiful.Fletching right now with duco.
