It was a good day for a morning walk

We went for a little stroll this morning and managed to get some pictures.  We ended up treeing her four times before all five of us ran out of batteries and memory cards in our cameras (I carry two cameras).  Here are a few of the better pictures.  The last time we treed her it was a better light and she was in the position for some good pictures.  Unfortunately, I had run out of memory on the third tree and was using a friend's card until it was full on the fourth tree, so I won't get those pictures back for a couple of days.  I'm not a real good photographer, I just take a lot of pictures and get lucky every once in a while.  Here are a few of the better ones, taken before on my first memory card filled up and the light got better:

We figure this kitty, a smaller female, was between 105-115 pounds.  While trailing her we crossed three elk kills and one other set of kitty tracks.  She is still alive and well up the hill even though she was in an open unit; none of us with tags wanted this particular kitty.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Walt,

Beautiful cat. Great pics. I hope to be able to hunt one in the next year or two. Got to get in shape first. Still have my Florida lungs:)

As usual Walt, great pictures. Thanks
I'll bet that "morning walk" was a little longer than some of us are used to.

Jamie,
Yes, I saw the blood.  Baxter, the tree climbing hound, got a little close and they went at it at the base of a tree.  I think the battle was a draw; the kitty got a bloody nose and Baxter got a nice gash on his chest.  Here are a couple of pictures of Baxter chasing her up the tree:

Baxter iss about ten feet up the tree in the last picture.

Dave, It was really steep but shorter then most of my "walks".

Beautiful Redbone Walt.. Nothing like seeing a good hound doing its job. Nice pictures.
By the way Baxter wouldn't happen to have an Timber Chopper blood in him would he?

Ramsey

when she gets home.I'm sooooo jealous!!!!!!

Izzy

Wow!!! So thats what they look like.Awesome pics. That dogs got some skills. How bout some wolf pics now.

Walt Francis

Isreal, I have a few wolf pictures but none of them are very good.  When the law suits are settled and we are allowed to control them, I hope to have some quality trophy pictures.

Chuck, though Baxter looks simular to a Redbone, he is a Plot.  Where I currently live I am unable to have my own hounds, fortunately I have a friend who has four Plot's and likes to have people like Lenny and myself who love the hunt more then the kill for companions during the chase.  Even if we are a couple of old fart's that have trouble keeping up.

I thought I recognized a little brindle. You're in good company with a Plott hound,Walt. Tough as they come.

Used to be the proud owner of a Plott or 2.

Your walks are better than mine.  Today I saw two Shih Tzus, a poodle, and a daschund.  Any time you want to trade walks, you let me know.  ggg
