My own Black Widow PSAV Ironwood takedown recurve. It's 57# @28 58 AMO.  The second set of limbs are matched to the riser and are 50# @28 58 AMO.
I saw these and my fatherinlaw went in halves with me. He actually suggested we get them after I started shooting his Ironwood in my sig line. I frigging LOVE it man.

I'm still in shock.

I'll post pics when it arrives. Look out!

Bob Lee Hunter will be for sale soon..........

Well the bows showed up. I strung the 50# limbs. Looks like the bottom limb is twisted clockwise. Limbs don't bend equally when strung. Bottom limb bolt socket appears to have been cranked on hard, and the top one is pristine. The bottom limb doesn't cleanly seat against the riser either as the top does. It's slighlty mis-aligned. Wonder what's up with this bow? Does it just need tillering?

Sorry for the camera phone pics guys. Take a look:

Have you reached out to widow and asked why this is happening? I'm really interested in this post because I'm in the process of deciding what kind of widow I'm going to buy. Everyone tells me they are bullet-proof!

I'm calling them when I get a chance......hopefully today.

If by "doesn't seat cleanly against the riser" you mean you can see a small gap, that is what you should see.  There should be small rubber o-rings on the posts to keep moisture out of the alignment holes.  This is the cause for the small gap.  If the bottom seats tightly make sure the o-rings are there.  If not they may be worn out and need replacing.

Could you explain why you think the bottom bolt socket looks to have been cranked down on hard?

Regardless of whatever is wrong, the widow guys will get you straightened out.  Great bunch of guys...Mike

here's the 57# strung..... bottom arc looks funny also. Wonder if the seller gypped me?

There are o-rings present. The bottom limb fits better but still not squared up as both the top limbs are. The bottom brass hex head bolt is chewed up as if somebody FORCED it. Literally it is damaged from torque where you insert the wrench. See below pics...

Sending this bow to BW tomorrow. Man!

Wow, that bolt is chewed up.  That is the o-rings I was talking about.  I think I may have misunderstood what you were saying about not being flush.  Are you saying they aren't square to the riser?

Do the serial numbers for the limb and riser match?  Just curious as it looks like there is no phenolic in the limbs, maybe a hand made model instead of cnc causing the limbs to not be flush.  I'm just guessing here, trying to help you out.  Much easier if the bow was here, but the Widow guys will take care of you for sure...Mike

highpoint forge

Yes, square to the riser.
This is an 03 bow so it's CNC, and serial #s match.

BW will sort it out, but I think I need to sort out the seller.

I would contact the chap who sold it to you and get your money back. Take that money and order a new one. Looks like you got a bow from someone who doesnt know how to take care of a bow.

Update:
I measured everything and the angles are almost identical at top/bottom. It all measures out so maybe I'm seeing an optical illusion. I showed it to a lifelong  pro and trad shooter tonite and he told me it's 100% and not to worry. He did mention the chewed up bolt looked like a torx was used on it and that I should order a new set from Ken & Co. in MO. Other than that he told me to go shoot it. The bow doesn't have a dang mark on it otherwise. Appears to have been shot very little indeed, apart from that funky bolt.

So I guess we're good. More later when we fire it!

Sounds like all will be well. One really nice thing about a Widow is they will always do there best to take of you. They treat every person like he is thier best friend. Good shooting.
