Hey guys I have heard alot about and have shot a few MOAB's,but I'm looking for input on Jim's original thunderstick longbows.I have two Dwyer 66" longbows and was wondering how Dave and Jim's bows compare to one another.Because the thundersticks are calling my name and I'm finding it hard to resist.   Thanks Steve

I had the Thunderstick X wich I believe was the predecessor to the MOAB, Great performer awesome shooter 60" 53# @ 28" cocabola and Bamboo horn tips, not as fancy as the MOAB but shot just as well there are a couple floating around here but there hard to get your hands on but if you do they should go for a fair price, $350-$425.

I guess your talking about Jim's traditional style Thunderstick. Mildly reflex-deflex?  This bow is on my short list for sure.

I had a Thunderstik III and now also have a MOAB. I also had a Dwyer which was a nice shooting bow but the Thunderstick line is the best performing longbow I have personally shot and I have shot and held most of all the top names. Granted, to each his own when it comes to many things like grip and length and all the little nuances, but a Thunderstick is a great bow no matter the model. That's just my two cents.
I cheat and shoot recurves also. jwingman

I have a Thunderstick II, it is a very smooth bow with little to no shock. I have say I like it better than the widows I have shot. For the price you can't go wrong.

I spoke to Jim yesterday. He said he is considering dropping The Thunderstick[Trad style longbow]and possibly the Thunderstick II. He hasn't been selling that many of these two  particular models. His two big sellars are the MOAB , the III, and the MAG.So if you want one best call soon. Oh and he's up to 7 months now.

Have never shot a Dwyer but I have a 62" Thunderstick III that I purchased new in 1998.  Ten years ago (yeesshh...has it been that long?) I considered Jim's bows to be one of the best deals out there..I beleive it is still true today.  A great shooting bow for an outstanding price.  Good luck.  Scott

I have a Thunderstick Mag 60."  It shoots great, but I don't have any of the other bows mentioned with which to compare it.
