Okay Guys, here is the question:  What is your favorite string silencer for your Shrews?  My Classic hunter needs something to end the "guitar twang".  Just want to see what you like, as well as how it works with that factory 450+ string (small diameter/and very twisted).

I was planning Bow Hush and Hush Puppies until I got the bow.....

Bob, First off check your brace and keep it at 7" and above. As for string silencers I like Cat Whiskers wrapped on the string, then pull on the rubber and trim the ends with scissors to make them stick out like little porcupines.  Slide them on the string to about 8-10" from the ends.

I set mine up the way Ron just described and put the cat whiskers 10" from the ends.  It is unbelievably quiet.

I like wooly wispers too.  I put them on at 9" from the string grooves.  It's about as quiet shooting as it is when it's not shooting!

I use about 1" long piece s of old work boot laces, put the between the strings... brace bow, use a needle to unwrap the braids.. shoot bow.... Quite.

Hush Puppies are my fovorite silencers. I just got my new to me Shrew a couple weeks ago, and havent had a lot of time to play yet.  I have no doubts the HP's will do their thing.

Bob, There is only one way to silence a Shrew. SELL it to me. You won't hear another sound from it I promise. My 56in Shrew is silent using Ron's method ans shootong with a glove. I hear a little more with a tab but don't think anyone else would notice it.

Dan, do you know why shooting with the glove is quieter than shooting with the tab?

Well Dave I can't say I know why,but with about every bow I have shot with FF string that seems to be the case,at least to my ear.

BobW just like Ron said and ISP5353 second, the brace height is critical then cat wiskers and she is whisper quite.

I know arrow weight can add some noise as my Classic Hunter likes heay arrows, not sure if that's because of my 30 inch draw or because weight is great.
