Well, we're now six weeks into the new year. How is everyone doing with their exercise program and commitment to get healthy?

Maintaining the diet/eating better is going fine, but I have slacked off on the workouts a bit. Working some overtime and the bad weather has slowed things down, but that is really more of an excuse! Starting back on the bike and weights Monday. Good luck to everyone>>>------->

20 minutes on elliptical, 6 days/week...going to 25 minutes next week...
this is the first "organized" exercise I've done in 25 yrs; amazing how it helps everyday living...and this year's pheasant hunting promises to be more enjoyable....

My fitness routine is still at a good pace, and my dietary changes have made me feel healthier, even if I'm not.  I'm running 4 miles or so right now, 3x a week.

I set a goal to run a half-marathon in April.  Setting a goal for running in a race always keeps me motivated.  Hope to break my PR of 1:51.

Good luck everyone. Stay on track!

Started off bad as I was sick most of the month of January and just did not have the energy to lift and walk after work.
Now I am doing 60-75 Minutes of brisk walking (4 mph average) after work 5 days a week. Will add weight lifting next week. Once the weather warms up I'll be extending my walking/running to 1.5 - 2 Hours and continue lifting.  And throw in walking the 2D Archery walk around at the local range. Want to drop 30-40 lbs by the end of May.

Day 1: Bowflex weight training and 30 min elliptical
Day 2: 60 min elliptical
Day 3: Rest

Eating a lot better than i have in years.

My last colestrol reading was 96

Im going to work out and eat right for the rest of my life. I love the way i feel now. With the little weight ive lost, still have about 30lbs to go, and the added mussle i feel 5 years younger and just in the 3 months ive been doing it.

Really well! 4 weeks as a non-smoker now & going strong. I've put on weight, but I figure nobody ever died from being a little podgy

Otto

Doing well...

Working out 4 days a week.
Running 3 days per week.
Doing the elyptical 2-3 times a week.

I have dropped 14 pounds so far.  I still have 40lbs to go.

Thanks for asking,

Doing pretty good...

Elliptical 3 days a week for 60 minutes. 1200 calories per workout

Stairmaster 3 days a week for 60 minutes. Just under 800 calories per workout.

Lost 18 pounds since mid December. Would like to lose another 50 pounds by July.

Figure I will need to change my routine by the end of the month so that I do not plateau.

Rob, congrats on quitting the smoking habit. That has to be one of the hardest vices to overcome.

:clapper:   Fantastic job everyone. I must say though, that I am not at all surprised. After all, as a group, who exhibits more dedication and discipline toward achieving a goal than a group of traditionalists?

Remember slow and steady wins the race and that typically, the faster weight comes off, the faster it goes back on.

Lost 45 lbs and just starting running again. I feel like a 30 year old again. I can even catch my wife easier now...ooohhhh yyyyeeaaaaa
As most we take no time for ourselves. YOU HAVE TOO MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF.
Bowflex Extreme II is incredible. 20 minutes 3 to 4 x a week.
Drop the soda, drink water, eat like a human being, eat 5x aday mixing a piece of fruit or granola bar in between the 3 main meals.
It's alot easier thank ya think.
JUST DO IT....
Good Luck to all.
